Bolted Connection
In comparison with bolted connections, the welding made at the production plants under continuous supervision saves 10% on materials. However, because of the following disadvantages;
a. qualified personnel requirement,
b. challenging horizontal and vertical construction
c. cracking under cold climate conditions
d. control difficulty
the weight bearing welding is not carried out at the job site, aside from those made for ease of assembly
 
Bolted connection system;
i. Does not require electricity or generator
ii. Facilitates assembly even in challenging weather conditions
iii. Minimizes worker related errors,
thus, it has become a preferred mode of connection in our country.
 
For example, if the number and spacing of the pre-drilled bolt holes on the connection region units are not correct; this serves as a warning to the worker. In case the pre-drilled bolt holes are in a completely different position, then the assembly will not be carried out.
